Aligned with National Priorities

Every project mapped to a national flagship scheme.

CVC's portfolio is deliberately structured to deliver against India's most consequential national missions — National Policy on Biofuels (2018), SATAT, GOBARdhan, UJWAL, FICCI Low-Carbon Mobility Roadmap, and India's INDCs under the Paris Agreement.

Flagship Missions Overview

Six flagship missions — where CVC directly delivers.

CVC's portfolio delivers directly into India's National Priorities across renewable energy, water, skills, industry, cleanliness and biofuels.

National Priorities

INDCs

United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change — India's Paris commitments.

Green India Mission

Enhancing forest and tree cover, restoring ecosystems.

Swachh Bharat Mission

Clean India — waste-to-wealth from farm and village waste streams.

National Water Mission

Water conservation — treated effluent + rainwater harvesting in every plant design.

Skill India Mission

Green-jobs skilling via CVC Training Services + Skill Council for Green Jobs.

Make in India

Domestic manufacture of plants, equipment and green fuels.

Indian Prime Minister's Flagship Schemes: UJWAL (LPG cooking access to an additional 100 million households) · Reduce India's Oil & Gas Import Dependence · GOBARdhan + Waste-to-Energy Schemes · National Policy on Biofuels · Double Farmers' Income.

INDCs, Green India Mission, National Water Mission, Skill India, Make in India, Swachh Bharat, plus PM Flagship Schemes: UJWAL, Reduce India Oil & Gas Import Dependence, GOBARdhan + Waste to Energy, National Policy on Biofuels, Double Farmers Income.

SATAT Scheme

15 million tons of Bio-CNG — India's national target.

SATAT (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation) targets 15 million tons of Bio-CNG per year across 5,000 plants by 2023. CVC's Bio-CNG portfolio is directly aligned to this national target.

  • Global funds & priority lending explored for Bio-CNG projects, with a new MSME package to fund plants across India
  • Crop stubble as feedstock — halting the choking crop-burning pollution every winter

SATAT Scheme — 15 MT/yr Bio-CNG Target

India's national target under SATAT is to produce 15 million tons compressed biogas (Bio-CNG) from 5,000 plants by 2023 — from the Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas announcement.

FICCI Roadmap
India Roadmap for Low Carbon & Sustainable Mobility

Prepared by FICCI under the Paris Process on Mobility & Climate (PPMC); launched 23 June 2020 by the Minister of Road Transport & Highways. Eight focus themes include:

  • Low-carbon energy supply strategy & low-carbon solutions for the rural population
  • Rapidly implement the National Policy on Biofuels, 2018
  • Bio-CNG / Bio-LNG plants within GST at 5% and eligible for priority-sector lending
  • Optimised supply chains to manage freight emissions; economic instruments for the transition
FICCI — Low Carbon Mobility Roadmap

FICCI-prepared India Roadmap for Low Carbon & Sustainable Mobility — launched 23 June 2020 by the Minister of Road Transport & Highways.

GOBARdhan & Manure-Based Bioenergy

300 million cattle. 300 million tonnes of manure. Every year.

The GOBARdhan Scheme (Ministry of Jal Shakti) covers 350 districts and 300,000+ villages. India's 300 million cattle produce 300 million tonnes of dry-matter manure annually — a feedstock base only farm-waste bioenergy can process at scale.

  • Keeps villages clean & sanitized, improves livestock health, increases farm yields
  • New job opportunities for farmers, cattle herders and waste management
GOBARdhan Scheme — 350 Districts, 300k Villages

GOBARdhan (Manure-based Biogas & Compost Units) with anticipated coverage of 350 Districts, 300,000+ Villages and 100,000 Gram Panchayats. ~70 million farm households have dairy activity.

UJWAL & IEA Forecast

Biomass at 14% of global energy by 2035.

UJWAL added 100 million LPG connections but drove up India's LPG imports — NITI Aayog now supports technology-agnostic subsidy including PNG and Biogas for rural areas. IEA forecasts biomass at 14% of global primary energy by 2035, nearly double solar and wind combined.

UJWAL Mission
Clean Cooking Mission · Likely Technology-Agnostic
2016 · UJWAL launched50+50 million LPG connections replacing traditional biomass cook stoves — international acclaim including WHO; UN award to the Prime Minister.
The consequenceA surge in India's LPG imports and in the budgetary support required to subsidise LPG for poor households.
NITI Aayog recommendationWiden the subsidy net to all cooking fuels including PNG and Bio-gas. PNG most efficient in urban areas; Biogas the preferred option in rural areas given raw-material availability.
UJWAL — Clean Cooking Mission

UJWAL launched by Prime Minister for 100 million LPG connections. NITI Aayog now recommends technology-agnostic subsidy: PNG for urban, Biogas for rural areas given feedstock availability.

IEA — Biomass 14% by 2035

IEA global energy mix forecast: modern & traditional biomass contribute 14% of global primary energy by 2035, versus 8% combined for solar and wind. Bioenergy is a leading global decarbonisation lever.
